Global Leaders Scholarship

The Global Leaders Scholarship, often titled the Global Leadership or Global Talent scholarship at various institutions, is a premier funding initiative designed to attract high-achieving international students to the UK. For Bangladeshi students, it offers a strategic pathway to access top-tier British education by rewarding academic excellence and leadership potential with substantial tuition fee waivers.

This scholarship is a merit-based award personally sanctioned by university leadership to build a community of diverse, high caliber individuals. It focuses on students who demonstrate not only academic brilliance but also the drive to become "Global Leaders" in their respective fields, from sustainability to business innovation.

Direct Financial Support: Recipients typically receive between £5,000 and £10,000 in tuition fee reductions.

Automatic Deduction: The award is applied directly to your tuition fee account, reducing the total amount you need to pay upfront.

Prestige: Scholars are recognised as elite Global Leaders, providing a significant boost to their CVs and global employability.

Leadership Development: Some versions of the scholarship include access to exclusive workshops and networking events with university executives.

To be eligible, Bangladeshi applicants must generally:

Fee Status: Be classified as an International or Overseas student for fee purposes.

Academic Excellence: Hold grades equivalent to a UK 1st Class Honours degree.

Leadership Potential: Demonstrate a proven track record of leadership in community, professional, or academic settings.

Self-Funding: Usually reserved for fully self-funded students who are not receiving other major scholarships, such as the Chevening Scholarship.

Level: Mostly valid for one-year, full-time taught Master's (Postgraduate) programs.

Field: Available across various disciplines, including Business, Engineering, Law, Social Sciences, and Health. Some research-based (MRes/PhD) and distance learning programs are often excluded.

While Global Leaders is a common name used by several universities, for the 2026-2027 intake, the following institutions are prominent providers for Bangladeshi students:

Academic Credentials: High-quality, certified copies of your Bachelor’s degree certificates and transcripts.

Personal Statement: A compelling essay (or sometimes a video pitch) focusing on your leadership vision and how you will impact your home country.

Reference Letters: At least two strong letters of recommendation from academic or professional mentors.

Valid Passport: Copy of the biometric page of your Bangladeshi international passport.
