Overview / About the Scholarship
The International Merit Scholarship at Bangor University is designed to attract and support the brightest international minds. Unlike a flat-rate discount, this scholarship is directly linked to your academic merit. The university rewards those who have put in the hard work during their undergraduate years by offering a sliding scale of financial support. For the 2026/27 academic year, Bangor University uses your final undergraduate CGPA or degree classification to determine your award tier. Students with the highest marks are eligible for the top-tier £6,000 discount.
Those with a solid academic standing typically receive awards of £3,000 to £4,000. This Merit approach incentivises talented students to choose Bangor, a university that consistently ranks among the top in the UK for student satisfaction and teaching quality. Because the award is confirmed at the point of admission, it provides students with immediate financial clarity, allowing them to plan their studies in the historic city of Bangor with confidence
