GREAT Scholarship

The GREAT Scholarship is a prestigious initiative jointly funded by the UK government’s GREAT Britain Campaign and the British Council, in partnership with participating UK higher education institutions. This program is specifically designed to support high-achieving students from Bangladesh who wish to pursue postgraduate studies in the UK. It aims to foster global academic exchange and empower the next generation of Bangladeshi leaders with world-class skills and international exposure.

Financial Support: A minimum of £10,000 credited directly toward the tuition fees of a one-year postgraduate course.

Leadership Development: Opportunity to act as an ambassador for UK higher education and the British Council.

To be eligible for this competitive award, Bangladeshi applicants must:

Nationality: Be a citizen and passport holder of Bangladesh.

Academic Excellence: Hold an undergraduate degree and demonstrate strong academic achievement in their relevant field.

University Offer: Hold a conditional or unconditional offer for an eligible full-time Master's degree at a participating UK university.

English Proficiency: Meet the specific English language requirements (e.g., IELTS or PTE) set by the host institution.

Commitment: Be motivated and willing to engage with the UK as a scholar through personal and academic fulfillment.

Level: Valid only for one-year, full-time taught Master's (Postgraduate) programs.

Field: Available for a wide range of subjects, including STEM, Business, Humanities, and Law, though specific eligible courses are determined by each host university.

For the 2026-27 academic year, 11 UK universities offer dedicated GREAT Scholarships specifically for Bangladeshi students.

While requirements may vary slightly by institution, Bangladeshi candidates typically need:

Academic Transcripts: Certified copies of undergraduate certificates and mark sheets.

Passport: A valid Bangladeshi international passport.

Personal Statement: A high-quality essay detailing your achievements and your plan to contribute to Bangladesh’s development.

Offer Letter: Proof of admission to an eligible course at one of the 11 participating universities.

Reference Letters: Usually two academic or professional recommendations.
