Education Counsellor – Australia

NWC Education is looking for an energetic and detail-oriented Education Counsellor with a thorough understanding of the Australian higher education landscape. You will support students in navigating course selection across Australia's leading Go8 and non-Go8 institutions, guide them through Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE), GTE statement preparation, and Student Visa (Subclass 500) requirements — walking alongside each student from first inquiry through to arrival in Australia. Location is open — remote or on-site from anywhere.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in any field (postgraduate qualification is a plus)
• 1–3 years of experience in Australian education counselling or student services
• Solid knowledge of Australian universities across Go8, ATN, and IRU groups
• Familiarity with Student Visa Subclass 500 and GTE requirements
• Understanding of February and July intake calendars
• Knowledge of OSHC providers and CoE issuance process
• Strong written and spoken English communication skills
• Ability to manage a high-volume student caseload

Responsibilities

• Provide personalised counselling to students seeking admission to Australian universities and colleges
• Advise on course selection, entry requirements, and English language prerequisites
• Guide students through the CoE process and OSHC arrangements
• Assist in preparing Genuine Temporary Entrant (GTE) statements for Student Visa
• Submit and track applications via university portals and partner platforms
• Coordinate with Australian university representatives during visit programmes
• Advise students on February and July intake planning and deadlines
• Keep up-to-date with Department of Home Affairs policy changes
• Conduct pre-departure briefings on accommodation, banking, and arrival
• Maintain complete and compliant student files for audit purposes
