• Academic Requirements: To be considered for the first year of a degree, you typically need qualifications equivalent to UK A-levels (minimum grades CCC) or the International Baccalaureate (IB). Ulster accepts a wide range of international high school diplomas.
• Foundation Pathway: If your secondary school results do not meet the criteria for direct entry, the university offers International Foundation Programmes to help you bridge the gap and prepare for degree-level study.
• Advanced Entry: Applicants holding a Higher National Diploma (HND), an Associate Degree, or who have completed prior years of university study may be considered for entry into the second or third year of a program.

• Academic Requirements: You generally need a recognised Bachelor's degree (Honours) with a minimum classification equivalent to a UK 2:2 (approximately 55–60% depending on your country's grading system). Note that Pass or Ordinary degrees are typically not accepted for Master's entry.
• Professional Experience: For certain courses, particularly within the Ulster University Business School, relevant work experience may be considered alongside or sometimes in place of traditional academic qualifications through APEL (Accreditation of Prior Experiential Learning).
• Progression: If you fall slightly short of the Master's entry requirements, Graduate Certificates or Extended MSc routes are available to provide a pathway into your chosen field.

• Standard Requirement: For most undergraduate and postgraduate programs, the minimum requirement is an IELTS Academic score of 6.0 overall, with no individual band score below 5.5.
• Higher Level Courses: Some specific programs (such as Nursing, Pharmacy, or Teaching) require a higher proficiency, typically an IELTS 6.5 or 7.0.
• Accepted Tests: Ulster accepts a variety of Secure English Language Tests (SELTs), including Pearson PTE Academic, TOEFL iBT, and the Duolingo English Test (DET). High school English grades from specific countries may also be used to waive the IELTS requirement.

• Course-Specific Evidence: Certain creative programs require a portfolio, while others, such as Health Sciences or Social Work, may require an interview or Fitness to Train assessment.
• Documentation: Your application must include academic transcripts, a personal statement, one or more academic/professional references, and a copy of your passport.
• Deposit: Once an offer is made, international students are usually required to pay a £4,000 deposit to secure their place and receive a CAS (Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies) for their visa.
