Overview / About the Scholarship
The Chancellor’s International Scholarship is the flagship award at the University of Sussex, specifically designed to support exceptionally talented students from global priority regions, such as Bangladesh. Recognising the high academic standard of Bangladeshi graduates, Sussex offers this award to those who have demonstrated top-tier performance during their four-year Bachelor’s degree. For the 2026 intake, Sussex has made a specific commitment to Bangladeshi talent. While the standard international award is £5,000, the university selects the strongest applicants from Bangladesh to receive a combined Country Scholarship package.
This reduces the financial barrier for Bangladeshi students to access a world-class education in Brighton, UK. This is a competitive award, meaning it is not automatic. Candidates must not only meet high academic thresholds (typically a GPA of 3.5/4.0 or higher) but also submit a compelling personal statement. The university is particularly interested in students who can demonstrate how a Sussex degree will enable them to contribute to Bangladesh's economic or social development upon their return.
