The Chevening Scholarship for Pakistani students is a prestigious, fully funded award granted by the UK government to individuals with the leadership potential to create positive change in Pakistan. For the 2026/2027 cycle, the program focuses on priority areas such as climate resilience, economic prosperity, and inclusive governance.
Funded by the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO), Chevening is designed to develop a global network of future leaders. Scholarship Value / Benefits
The award is comprehensive and includes:
Full Tuition Fees: Direct payment to the university.
Monthly Stipend: A personal living allowance to cover accommodation and daily expenses.
Travel Costs: Economy airfare to and from the UK.
Additional Allowances: One-time arrival and homeward departure allowances.
Visa Costs: Coverage for one entry clearance visa application.
Special Grants: A travel top-up allowance for attending exclusive Chevening events in the UK.
Eligibility Criteria
Nationality: Be a citizen of Pakistan.
Residency: Commit to returning to Pakistan for at least two years after the scholarship ends.
Work Experience: Have at least 2,800 hours (roughly two years) of work experience gained after graduation.
Academic Background: Holds an undergraduate degree equivalent to an upper second-class (2:1) honors degree in the UK.
Offers: Apply to three different eligible UK courses and receive an unconditional offer from at least one by July 9, 2026.
Level & Field of Study
Level: Taught Master’s degrees only.
Duration: Full-time courses lasting one year.
Field: Open to all academic disciplines, provided the course is UK-based and starts in the autumn term.

The scholarship is valid at every university across the UK. In 2026, leading choices for Pakistani students include the University of Oxford, the University of Cambridge, and LSE.
While over 160 institutions generally accept international students, some, such as the University of Chester and East London, have reportedly paused or restricted new Pakistani student recruitment in 2026 due to compliance with visa requirements. Students are advised to apply to low-risk institutions to increase their chances of admission.
